To adjust contrast/brightness in scanning, you start at Configuration / General Tab.
On the "Brightness" sliding scale, left click on the slider arrow, hold down the mouse button, and drag the arrow to the right. The further right you go, the darker the image. Normally the settings scale will be in the middle somewhere.
